Family and Friends Relieved After Six-Day Search

Oswaldtwistle, UK - Jay Slater, the 19-year-old apprentice bricklayer who went missing in Tenerife on Monday, has been found safe and well.

Slater's family and friends issued a desperate appeal for information after he disappeared on Monday after telling a friend he would return to his hotel. Police launched a search operation, and a social media campaign to find him quickly gained traction.

After six days of searching, Slater was finally located on Saturday afternoon. According to local media reports, he had been staying with a friend in the Los Cristianos area of the island. Slater was reportedly in good spirits and was reunited with his family at a local hospital.

Slater's mother, Debbie, expressed her relief and gratitude. "We are so relieved to have him back safe and well," she said. "We want to thank everyone who helped to search for him and to those who supported us during this difficult time."

The British Consul in Tenerife is assisting Slater and his family with their return to the UK. The circumstances surrounding his disappearance are still being investigated.
